Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama
Criminal Fraud or Litigation?
My daughter enrolled in a technical ''school'' after we checked all the literature provided to the public by the school. After a few months of ''bare minimum '' classes, we found out that many of the statements made by the owners was not true and several important facts were left out of the presentation.
PhD's were not disclosed as ones not at all related to the disipline of the school but it was left out in the presentations and not disclosed until after a non-refundable deposit was made of several thousand dollars and then only to students who were not aware of what this could mean.
Previous training sites were listed as plentiful and nearby. It was not until it was time to attend these traing areas that it was found out the the training sites were few and far away , and not at all consistant to the advertising material and verble promises of the owners. The correction of this situation is/was not being activly sought. There is much more and I feel like a fool for getting my daughter in this fix. The cost already paid is over $7,000. If you have any information, please let me know. Thank you

Re: Criminal Fraud or Litigation?
Although this is in the wrong section, clearly not a family law matter, I considered it important to address your concerns.
There are for-profit "technical schools" that are actually unethical and possibly illegal. Contact the State Attorney General's office in Baton Rouge. They may be able to assist you. You might also wish to consult a lawyer about suing this school.

Was the school in Louisiana or Alabama? If in Alabama, please contact my office for further information. There may be a civil case worth pursuing.
