Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

Custodial parent pays child support to no-custodial parent

Had custody of children since 1993. Filed for modification of child support Nov 2000. Oldest turned 19 so went to modify based on 1 child now. I am custodial father. Judge ordered ME, the CUSTODIAL father to pay child support to the NON-CUSTODIAL mother. How in the world can this be legal? My lawyer moved to Indiana in Nov. and left me hanging. Guess judge thought he could take advantage of me.How can I cheaply have this rectified? I already paid for 1 attorney and he moved on me. Again, how can custodial parent pay CHILD SUPPORT to non-custodial parent when child lived with Father since 1993 and is still living with him.

This is preposterous. In What county do you reside? I do not know of a method for you to resolve this without an attorney. But I would suggest you get one. There has to be some fact missing in this scenario. As for your attorney who moved. If you have his address. And he did not fulfill his obligation, write to him and demand a refund. If he refuses you might want to take this up with the state bar.

You may call me if you have questions. No fee for consult.
