Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama
Custody problems.
My question is...my fiance just found out that he has a child that is 9 months old. In the beginnning they were going to settle out of court and everything was going good. He got to see his child whenever he could although he worked and is a full time college student. Now the mother of the child will not answer his calls and lets the grandparents of both sides see the child before he does. He is paying child support that they settled through DHR. Do you suggest he gets a lawyer and take her to court for custody?. If so the problem is, with his job he works on the weekends so if he was to get standard custody which is every other weekend he still wouldn't be able to see his child. Would they be able to set days during the week for visitation?

He could go file for visitation modification through the juvenile or family court.

There are as many different visitation arrangements as there are people. The court can definetly set visitation around work schedules or during the week. Visitation does not have to occur just on weekends.
