Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama
Daughter wants to move out
I am remarried and have custody of my 4 children from first marriage. Their father is overseas with military and not due back for another year. She hates living here with her step-father and makes life miserable for everyone else. She hardly comes home as it is and wants to move out when she turns 18, but will still be in high school. I know she is a minor in AL until 19 and I would like her to stay home until she graduates, but is there anything stopping her from moving out at 18? We have no other family nearby, so her only choice would be to live with friends I don't approve of so she can stay in same school.

Re: Daughter wants to move out
You asked if there was anything stopping her from moving out at 18. The answer is that she could become acquainted with the juvenile authorities if she leaves home while still a minor.
