what determines common law marriage in Alabama?
I lived with my boyfriend for 4 years,and supported him totally including large debts to the courts,
he left after a disagreement and never came back.He has never repaid me anything.I was then and am still living on Social Security. Do I have a case to take him to small claims?

In answer to your first question; you and he must have held yourselves out to the community as husband and wife in a manner sufficient to create a common law marriage, you and he must have also had a mutual and then present intention to be married to one another. You must also have lived together as husband and wife.
Second question, I can't say because you have given me no facts. When did this all happen, what was your agreement etc.
