domestic violence/abuse

I need help getting out of a domestic abuse/violence situation. I have lost my job and am not currently working. I have stayed because I have no place to go but the violence is getting worse and I am scared. We have lived together for 7 years but are not married. My heath has been failing for the past three years because of the violence. I just need some advise as to how to go about leaving and making sure I can get all of my things before he destroys everything.

Contact your local district attorney's office or Sheriff's department for agencies that assist with domestic violence and provide shelter until you can be self sufficient.
