Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

family court jurisdiction

I was involved in a divorce originating in Alabama with child support guidelines established there. For the past five years myself and my ex-wife have resided in Georgia in seperate cities. I was recently taken back to court by she in Alabama and the case was heard under the same judge. Did the court system of Alabama have jurisdiction to hear this case? BTW she used the same counsel as before whom resides and practices in Alabama. Thank you.

Re: family court jurisdiction

Yes jurisdiction is proper here. It may be transferred to Georgia to the county where the child lives.
