Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

Family Law (adoption)

I have full custody of a little girl. I was wondering how good of a chance I would have if the adoption was contested? Also about how much $ for a contested adoption?

Re: Family Law (adoption)

I would have to know more details about the situation before I could answer this question. In general, it is difficult to adopt a child over a natural parent's objection, unless there has been a termination of parental rights first. The fee, of course, is based on how many steps have to be gone through in order to finalize the adoption. I would suggest that you talk to a family law attorney and let the attorney give you more specific advice on the steps you need to take to adopt this child. If you would like to discuss it with me, feel free to give me a call.
