Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

How can I file a divorce if me and my spouse have not spoken to or lived together in over five years? I'm ready to remarry but have to resolve this first marriage. Please help me with advice.

You can file for a divorce and either serve him at a known address or the last known address. If he is not personally served, unavailable or you do not know where he is, then a petition can be filed with the court to publish in a newspaper for his whereabouts.
