Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

Financial Help with Pregnancy

I am nearly 8 months pregnant. The father and I are not together and he has offered no emotional or financial support during this pregnancy. Child support and paternity are not an issue, he's going to sign an affidavit of paternity and pay child support. But, he has not offered to help with the costs associated with the pregnancy at all. What would be the most appropriate way to sue him for half of the associated costs? Small claims if it's under that amount or when I retain an attorney to draw up the legal documents for child support have him make that part of the agreement?

Re: Financial Help with Pregnancy

There is no need to file a "small claims" case. Everything can be handled during the child support action.
