Under a very recent Alabama Supreme Court decision, not always. In a simple case where you and the other parent (mother, I am assuming) agree to terminate your parental rights and allow you to pay no child support the court will almost surely agree to allow you to terminiate your rights and pay no more support. The new case pointed out that in situations where rights are terminated through some bad act of one parent, the parent who committed that bad act should not benefit from his bad conduct by escaping having to pay child support. So, it is not the cut and dried issue it once was. However, if you have a situation where you and mom agree, you will probably not be ordered to pay any support. Good Luck
