Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama
Grandparent Custody
My father has taken my niece and is refusing to give her to my sister so that they can move.....he has also ran and has hidden her not letting her parents know where she is.....he says he has filed a patition in court and told they that they have a court date in 10 days but they haven't received anything saying this. How can they find out since it is the weekend??

Tell you sister to call the police, and report that her daughter was abducted. Grandparents have visitation rights, but not custodial rights. Nevertheless, there is never a right to abduct a child from the custodial parent, even if there is a custody battle. Hire a lawyer immediately.
