guardian
we have a head injured niece living with us who is out of hand. who would be legally responancable for her my wife her aunt, her grandmother or her half brother?

The answer is contained within who is the legal guardian? If there is none, then perhaps there may be some implied responsible party by the person who has undertaken the child and who is acting as a guardian.
