Info. about visit. &cust. rights for out-of-state unwed father

My son's ex-girlfriend gave birth to a child in Alabama. He lives in Mississippi. She is a minor who lives with her parents. They are not wed nor have they ever been married. What rights does he have as the father concerning visitation and custody, as well as us, the grandparents?

Assuming your son is an adult, he would need to file a petition with the juvenile court to establish paternity and for visitation. This would need to be done in the county where the child resides.
