Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama
Interference with visitation
I am involved in a custody dispute over my 2 children. The mother and I were never married. Due to numerous factors, including a previous attempt at suicide, I have decided to attempt to gain permanent custody. The hearing on this is still several months off, and in the meantime, the mother has repeatedly refused to allow me to visit my children despite the fact that I have an order of visitation granting me one weekend a month provided I give her two weeks notice. I am traveling to Alabama to effect visitation this week, but she has already made it know to me that she will not give them to me this weekend. My question is, "what actions can I take immediately if she refuses to allow me to have my visitation priviledges?" I'm supposed to get my children at 9am Friday morning. Is there any action I can take that day that will force her to allow me to have my visitation with the children for the weekend?
