Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

I live in Alabama and I received a court summons to appear for a DNA test for paternity of a 8 year old child that I know nothing about in Florida...Do I have to appear and should I get a lawyer? What other options do I have/what are my rights?

Great question. First, I am assuming that you are being served as a respondent in a paternity action. Do you have any contacts with the state of Fla.? Have you ever lived there, been there or otherwise had contacts there? You should contact a lawyer and deal with this. There are technical jurisdictional questions here which you must not attempt to handle by yourself.
