In this case, the pratical answer would be to notify your ex-husband by certified mail that you have his property and that he must claim and remove it within a reasonable time (30 days), and that 30 days after he fails to claim the property you will dispose of it. If there is real value here -- something big -- it would make sense to go back to the court and ask them to allow you to declare the property abandoned by him.
