Way to general a set of facts for any meaningful answer. Alimony is based on your need and his ability to pay, the length of the marriage, and a host of other factors. Alimony is designed to see to it that the parties are able to maintain the status that they maintained during the marriage. Pratically speaking, you are a 26-year old woman with two kids. I don't think you can expect to live out your days not having to support yourself, but depending on alimony. Get an attorney who can take all of the facts of your case and attempt to give you some reasonable expectation on alimony, a property settlement and custody of your children. There is no simple formula for your question. Go see a lawyer.
