Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

Opposition to Affadavit to stop Child Support

I have filed an Affadavit to stop my child support payments as my daughter is now 18 and is married. Her father has filed for a hearing on this matter. Is there anything legally he can do to stop my Affadavit when my daughter is not only of age but married also?

Re: Opposition to Affadavit to stop Child Support

The age of majority for child support purposes in Alabama is 19, not 18. However, if you can prove she is now married and is self supporting or being supported by her husband, then you should still have a chance to stop the child support.
