Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama
You previously answered a question, and confirmed what I had assumed about being common-law married. You gave a list of things, such as:
1) We had several joint checking accts.
2) He purchased me another ring Christmas 2009
etc...
The thing is, we've been on/of,f married for 23 yrs., and he only wants to claim that he's divorced, when he's met ANOTHER woman. Also the non-compliance to the settlement. He was given the marital home, in my opinion, because he paid off my atty. and had several witnesses, that perjured themselves when they painted me out to look like a psycho. He reminds me almost daily that he can have me "removed", whenever he decides to.
I am the typical battered woman: No friends, No job, No money, alienated from family. He owns his own business, and I can prove the income that he hid, during the FIRST divorce.

You should consult an attorney closer to home. Did you actually get divorced? You can't be common law married "on/off" Once established a common law marriage may only be dissolved by divorce. You need a lawyer. Call the Alabama Bar and see if you qualify for a person participating in their free lawyer program. Good luck
