seperation not yet divorced

can i leave the house with my kids and let my husband visit at anytime , for a temperory seperation

Risky. There is no such thing in Alabama as common-law separation. You need a legal separation if you move out. Otherwise, your husband could get the kids anytime, and then file for temporary custody himself.
