Spouse's retirement allotments
When you are awarded your spouses retirement, how is it usually allotted.
Will I receive a lump sum immediately? Will I have to wait until he is retirement
age before I receive anything or will I be paid once I have a final decree in monthly
installments?

all of your question depend on the terms of your spouses retirement agreement with his employer AND on the agreement regarding your award in the divorce decree. it is probably referenced in a separate agreement in the decree called a qdro agreement.
