Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama
Temporary Relief of Support Payments
I am getting a new job in 2002. The job is going to pay bi-weekly. I will not recieve any income for one month. I can not find any information on the web about this nor can I afford counsel. Can I petition the court for temporary relief of payments? Is this good grounds for temporary relief?

You not only can petition the court, but you better if you want to stay out of trouble. Be advised however that the procedure is not easy and that is why people hire lawyers. Also understand that for the time that you will not have an income, the court can imput minimum wage to your support obligations. I strongly recommend you try and find a way to retain an attorney.
