Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

Visitation of Absent Parent

My children are 14 and 11 years of age. I have full custody of them. They both have decided that they do not wish to go to their fathers every other weekend. Can their father make them go? What are their rights?

Re: Visitation of Absent Parent

i assume that your divorce decree orders visitation with the father, if it does, then the court has ordered that the father have that visitation with his children. the visitation can be changed by another court order, but you will have to go to court to do so. unless the father is doing something to the children to harm them he has a right to visitation in accordance with the court order and a violation of the order is punishable by a contempt citation by the court.
