Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

visitation @ 18

My child will be 18 in a few months and I understand that the age of majority in Alabama is 19. What I want to know is:

Can she refuse to follow the visitaion order with her noncustodial parent at age 18 without first going to court? She is not married, she will be finished with high school in Dec 2007 and she will be attending college in Jan 2008. Also, will I (custodial parent) be held in contempt/arrested?

Re: visitation @ 18

You cannot prevent her from going, but conversely, you do not have to carry her out to her other parent's car and force her in. You must make the child available, which means making sure she is home when your ex comes to pick her up, transporting her half way if that's what the visitation schedule calls for, etc.
