Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

Visitation question? I was recently incarcertated for a felony DUI. I was incarcerted for 3 years. Before being incarcerated I had visitation with my son, every other weekend. I have been out of jail since August of 2009. My ex wife will not let me have any contact with my child. Yes I owe back child support but she refuses to take the money. I try to contact her and try to see or at least talk to my son and she refuses. I feel like I have no rights considering I am now a convicted felon. Can anyone tell me what to do?

Convicted felon or not you still have rights of visitation. You should file a contempt of court petition or rule nisi with the court which granted your visitation. The court will order visitation to occur. as far as payments of child support, that can not be used as a basis for not allowing visitation. You should obtain a bank account and write checks which you send to her. If I can be of assistance, please contact me through my web site.
