Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama
Visitiation Rights for Grandparents
Several months ago I found out that I have a granddaughter and have become very attached to her. We all have, my husband and daughter. Our
grandbaby also seems to be attached to us.
Here's the problem. My son had a relationship with a young girl that lives in AL. He recently found out that he is the father (by DNA testing) that he is the baby's father. The young mother never told my son that she was going to have a baby. Instead she married another man, quite a bet old than her. In September, she left this older man and started living with my son and told him about the baby.
I paid for the DNA test to prove that the baby was my son's. They are both very young and are having poblems. This young girl is now seening both her husban and my son. At first we were aloud to keep the baby for days at a time (we live in FL). Now that they are have so many problems the mother of the baby will not let us see the baby. I would like to know what kind of rights as grandparents that we have.
Any information that you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The question posed requires the application of the laws of a jurisdiction in which I am not licensed to practice. I, therefore, cannot provide you with an answer.
