Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

I know a women that has a baby that she want to let me adopt. What do I need to do to adopt the child? Do I need to do all the home studies and classes? She wants to just sign the baby over and let me adopt it. Please let me know what I need to do.

You must petition the court for an adoption pursuant to the statutes
