Family Medical Leave

I have been off work for the past 4 months with complications from a triple bypass surgery. I had maintained contact with my employer and assured I had a job waiting till I showed up to work at which time I was laid off. Whats my options?

you may not have any options considering the downturn in the economy may be the reason for the layoff. You have to determine that. We you paid when you were off? More than likely, it is just a layoff and not directed at you. At which, you have no remedy but unemployment compensation.
