Is it against the law to pull a credit report on someone?

Not per se. Certain businesses are authorized to get credit reports. Nevertheless, they must have a valid purpose or there are consequences. Furthermore, there are all sorts of other rules that have to be followed once the report is pulled.

If someone has pulled your credit report without a valid reason or taken some action against you (such as denying you a job, or a loan) and have not informed you of such action/lack of action, then you might very well have a lawsuit against them.
