Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Alabama

responsiblity

I worked for a company that bought and sold diamonds, my job was to call and order the diamonds from other vendors send them out to customers and when they were sold I reported to the vendors that they were sold. They would invoice the items and when our customers would pay us we would pay them. I recently was let go with all of the other employees due to the companies finanical problems. The owner has decided not to pay these vendors their money for what ever reason, and I am now being sued for the money that the company owes these vendors. i have not stock in this company I am no longer employeed their and have no intrests their can I be held responsible for his unpaid debts.

Re: responsiblity

You need a lawyer, you can not go it alone. The legal process is too complex for you to try. You need to plea defenses as well as join indispensible parties including your employer, who should have had the liability insurance or other means to cover such expenses. Discovery will be needed. Trust me, you can not do it alone. Get a lawyer.
