Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Alabama
I sold a used tractor to a gentleman from an internet listing. I had purchased the tractor locally only a couple of weeks before because I thought it was a low price. I used the tractor on my property for that time and cleaned it up and put it back on the internet and had several calls. The gentleman that bought it called and made me an offer over the phone and I agreed. He asked many questions about the tractor and I told him what I could. He asked if it had any damage and I told him the paint was scraped on one side and it needed a light lens that I had ordered. He came with a check 2 days later and looked over the tractor quickly and I helped him load it and he was gone. Now 2 weeks later he called and said that the tractor front end loader had a bar or something that had been broken and welded back together. He was talking about contacting his lawyer about it. What should I do? The tractor worked fine for me and I didn't know anything was wrong with it at the time I had it.

You sold the tractor "as is, where is" with no warranty other than that is was yours to sell. Are there any documents associated with the sale that document any warranty? Is there a bill of sale? Did the bill of sale recite that the tractor was sold as is where is?
