Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Alabama

Being Sued my ASPLUNDH

I was fired from Utility Meter Services, where I read power meters, for what is called stump reading. Stump Reading is where a person estimates the reading with the hand held computers help using previous records of consumption. In doing so I was fired. I was also fined $630 for the fee UMS had to pay AL Power. At UMS I was only trained 4 days. My trainer told me an incorrect definition of Stump Reading and told me what I did was estimating (which he said was legal). I wouldnt have done it if I knew what it was. Do I have to pay the fine? UMS also didnt pay me any overtime I earned while working there. I stump read the end of the route bc it was past ''quiting time'' and there was no sense in me working for no pay. What should I do? Thanks.
