Legal Question in Insurance Law in Alabama

Automobile Insurance

I was going on vacation and came to an intersection with a yellow flashing light on my side and a red light on other road. The vehicle plowed out into my side of the car just as I was at the intersection totaling my car. I had to get a friend to come for us and taxi us for 3 days until I could get in touch with the insurance company, arrange for a rental and go to a walk in clinic for an injured leg and hip. The x-rays showed no broken bones but a small hemotoma near the ankle. This is the 5th day and I am still in a lot of pain when I walk. What is the insurance of the at fault driver responsible for---just the actual damage and medical bills or should we be compensated for inconvenience, vacation interruption, pain and anguish, etc? The car is a 2001 Mercury Marqueis, 80,000 miles, paid for with no intention of trading for 2-3 years.

Re: Automobile Insurance

Where did the accident happen and where do you live?

The insurance company should pay for all the damages....how much that turns out to be may depend on whether or not you hire a lawyer to represent your interests.

Please contact my office and perhaps I can help. It won't cost you anything to discuss the case.

Take care.
