Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Alabama
Idea for a website
Let's say that I have an IDEA or a plan for a website that I want to pitch to companies. How do I go about ensuring that they're not going to say ''no'', turn around and take my idea. The idea is general, but at the same time there is nothing on it's scale of vastness. So I guess I'm asking two questions. Can my idea be copyrighted? If not, what would be my plan of action to ensure I wouldn't be kicked out the door and stolen of my pitch?

Re: Idea for a website
Your website may be patentable, which would probably provide you with greater protection than just a copyright. If you file a patent on your website invention, and someone steals the invention, you can sue him for patent infringement once your patent issues.
