Legal Question in Employment Law in Alabama

discriminated for being american

i have been working through a temp company for almost three and a half years at this electronics company. there are four buildings at this place. in the building i am in only 5 of us are americans the rest through the temp company, maybe 150 plus are illegal hispanics. the other three buildings, temps and permenant works have received over 2.00 hour raises, our building has not. everything posted by the temp company is in spanish and not in english. we aren't being hired permenant because of the illegals nor receiving pay raises. Do we have a case

Re: discriminated for being american

Possibly. There are a lot of facts missing in this post. Discrimination on the basis of race and national origin is illegal. If there are undocumented immigrants working for the company and they are not given raises - then they can sue the company and recover. If only undocumented immigrants are denied permanent employment, then they can sue the company for such discrimination - provided that the company does not defend the suit with the fact that they are undocumented. It is highly unlikely that they would do so since it is their responsibility to make sure that their workers are all documented properly.

I would be interested in finding out a bit more about what is happening here. Send me a private email at [email protected]. Something might possibly be done.
