Legal Question in Employment Law in Alabama
Discrimination based on race, age, marital status, sex
We are in a unique situation. First of all my husband and I work in the same office. The discrimination taking place has to do with our race (white) and our marital status. We have given written notification to our employeer that racial statements, sexual overtures, harrasment, hostile working conditions and situations that are adverse to our health are occuring. As of this date the only information I can get is that it is matter of preception. I was hired to be a senior rep. - due to discrimination based on race - I have not been able to do this job, and duties have been slowly removed. My husband was hired to do a particular job, due to health problems caused at work, his job was taken and was given to a woman. Do we have a basis for filing suit?

You may very well have a claim. You need to make sure that you have both followed any company procedure for complaints of this nature. Your next step would probably be to file a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. You need to consult with an attorney directly about this.
