Legal Question in Employment Law in Alabama

Job posted before terminated

Oct 4 I was written up for job performance and given 30 days to turn my stores comp numbers around as well as overall appearance.Today Oct 18 I have receive several calls about the general managers trainee posistion now availble. This information was posted in the employment section of the news paper. This makes it pretty obvious That no matter what numbers were turned I will suffer a termination. Is there any legal recourse to having my job posted before even being terminated

Re: Job posted before terminated

There is no such thing as wrongful termination in Alabama. You can be fired for a good reason, a bad reason, or no reason at all. However, you cannot be fired for discrimination based on race, sex or other prohibited classifications. If you think that you are being discriminated against, then the fact that they advertised your job before they had "decided" to fire you raises some interesting issues that could indicate that race or other motivations were really in place here. If that is the situation, then I would be interested in talking to you.

Also be aware that even if you are fired there are certain rights that you still have, such as COBRA, full payment for all your services, and a few other things.
