Legal Question in Employment Law in Alabama

Is it legal in the state of Alabama to deny an employee off time for the birth of his child. The mother will be induced in 2 days and up until today the father was told he would be off for the birth of his child. Today they are refusing him time off for the birth as well as taking away his usual Friday off day. He was told he had to work and could see his newborn when he gets off and to plan on working thru his offday and on Saturday.

Please help.
