Legal Question in Employment Law in Alabama
I started working at a construction company about a month ago. On my first day I was emasculated and called names like "sugar britches" by a foreman, because I have longer hair and don't hold myself up in a strong masculine way as them and he did it in front of everyone working, including a different foreman who laughed with him. I never provoked anything, in fact I never spoke to him or acknowledged that he was calling me names in fear of my job place, and because I was embarrassed. I've been afraid to write a complaint because I am the youngest and least strong working there, and I didn't know how it would effect my hours and position. And come to find out, he's been in trouble a lot for harrassing and discriminating employees, but nothing ever happens to him. One foreman told me the company was getting sued for his previous affair/affairs, but I'm not positive on it. I'm sick of the company letting him get away with treating people that way, because he's rude and doesn't show any respect regardless of his position. It's not right. I have several witnesses who are willing to testify against the man. Do I have a plausible lawsuit to follow through with?

You have to go through your company procedure first. File a complaint with your HR Dept.
