Legal Question in Employment Law in Alabama

termination appeal

After 12 yrs. of employment with the state in the Circuit Clerks office I was terminated for insubordination. I appealed it and had a hearing before an appeal board made up of 5 people. The upheld the termination. Is there any way to appeal this decision?

Re: termination appeal

Yes. This decision can be appealed to the Circuit Court in the County where you live. In your situation, you may be able to seek a change of venue due to the fact that you worked for that very court.

The only problem is that these cases are still very difficult to win, and are fairly expensive. You do not get a new trial. I have done appeals in the past, but never on a contingency fee basis.
