Legal Question in Employment Law in Alabama

I work from 8:00-5:00. We are not paid for lunch hour. The boss says if we leave early or come in late, we do not get a lunch hour. For example, if you work from 8:00 until 9:00 and go home sick, you are still charged 8 hours of leave even though you worked an hour. Is this right?

No you should seek out a lawyer who handles labor law. Of course, they could then terminate your employment.
