i moved into a house where me i had a verbal agreement with the landlord that i would paint the home well, i did that (not in lease agreement) moved out and he is trying to hold my deposit talking about paint was uneven is this legal

What you have here is a dispute that you can settle in court if you want. You are going to have to sue him to get any satisfaction.
