Legal Question in Personal Injury in Alabama
Back in October, me and some friends were going to roll a yard. I gave one of my friends permission to drive my car. Me and the driver of the car were finishing up rolling the yard when we all made a run for it. One of my other ex-friends was already sitting in the driver seat when we got back to the car. I did not give her permission to drive the car and she took off with the headlights off on the car. We then side swiped a Mustang parked on the side of the road and she decided to keep on going since she is already on probation. It busted my passenger headlight, dented in the fender to where we couldn't open the passenger door and it scraped all the way down. Now that I have gotten the parts replaced the driver (who said she would pay for damages) will not pay me back the owed money. Can I take her to court for the money for the parts and am I and my other friends liable for the hit and run that she commited? BTW- we were all 16 at the time, 17 now.

Your legal exposure on the Mustang might be more than you can collect from your friend and it will come out in trial, so you would want to think about that before you sue her. Yes, you can sue her but will you get anything or will it bring you more trouble than it would be worth?
