Credit Report being used against you

Can a lawyer obtain and use your credit report against you in a deposition

without your consent or knowledge?

Depends.

How did the attorney get the credit report? From his client, a "creditor" of yours??

If the attorney used a subpoena, he or she is probably o.k. If NOT, then you might be able to sue the attorney under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. How the attorney could "use it against" you I don't understand. Your credit report is what it is. If you had a deposition you probably have a lawyer. CONTACT YOUR LAWYER. Your lawyer is the best source regarding your question.

NO! That is an impermissible use of a credit report and gives rise to a cause of action unser the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
