Legal Question in Personal Injury in Alabama
i received a settlement in my automobile accident and my lawyer was paid 40% of the settlement, There was a bill i thought i had to pay, but turns out i didnt have to pay that bill now my lawyer gave me the remaining proceeds from that bill amount but took 40% of it, Was he suppose to get another 40% of my proceeds

If the remaining proceeds were part of your 60%, then I don't see how the lawyer could justify taking 40% of it. But he hadn't already taken his share of these funds, then he was entitled to do so.
