Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Alabama

Am I entitled to return of my legal papers from attorney?

I had POA to sell my son's house & 3A. Also had POA to quit-claim an adjoining 5A belonging to another son, to add to house as buyer wanted total of 8A. Quit-claim was to be done at closing. I have never rcvd copy. I was also asked to leave my original POA's and told they would be returned to me. I called and was told papers would be mailed to me. They weren't. I went to the office and was told they would be mailed. They weren't. I wrote a letter three weeks ago and have heard nothing. Am I entitled to receive these papers? What can I do?

Thank you very much for your help.

You are certainly entitled to receive the power of attorney if the principal agrees with you. Why not engage the principal to call the attorney and attempt to get the power of attorney original sent to you. If the attorney still fails, you should report the matter to the Alabama State Bar Association. They will refer it to the disciplinary commmission.
