Follow up to : The status of property in an apartment ....

Thank you for the quick response. If she goes to small claims court in AL can her ex-roommate claim that she owe ''back rent'' since she moved out of the apartment and her name remained on the lease? They verbally agreed that she didn't have to pay any rent after she left, but he claims not to remember that conversation. Currently they have both been released from the lease as of 11/1.

It'll be up to the judge in Alabama to determine who is more credible and to award (or not) the judgment, accordingly.
