Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Alabama
My mother let some friends move in with her and now she cannot get them to leave. They have been there a couple years and they do get mail at that address. They also have not paid any rent the entire time they have lived there. Their "{moving in" has turned into moving my mother to one side of her ranch style home and them "taking over the other side." It just so happens that is the end of the house the kitchen is in, therefore, my mother and her sister have been living in the living room of the house with a microwave to cook with. If we moved them out onto the street, could they do anything? Is there any way to get them out without going through the eviction process?

Without any agreement at all, I'd say they are trespassers. The police will not do anything in all probability because they will say it is a civil matter. You would file an ejectment in civil court, not an eviction.
