seller refuse to pay for a new roof, after insurance company says -no!

At closing, the seller and her realtor added an addendum to the contact (in writing on a piece of note book paper) that an insurance claim would be submitted and a new roof will be done. Now the adjuster of her insurance company is saying that it has some damage $320.00 but there is no need for a new roof. By the way the roof is the original roof--1977.

This depends greatly on the exact language of the addendum. If it suggests that a new roof will be supplied, regardless of the outcome of the insurance claim, then it is likely you are owed a roof. If it suggests that new roof will be supplied contingent on a successful insurance claim you may not be owed a roof.
